Our story

धrohar: a heritage, carried forward.

The story of a piece of land, a family, and a house built as a token of love.

Our story

Our grandparents gave us this land. We built a home on it, and now we're opening the door.

धrohar means heritage. This little piece of land in Gegadgaon, Selur was passed down to us by our grandparents, and it has always been more than property. It is where our roots are.

We built the house here as a token of love for them: two simple rooms, a kitchen, and an open veranda that looks straight out at the Himalaya and Tehri Lake. It is the kind of view you stop talking in front of.

Now we want to share it. धrohar is open to travellers who want to slow down, explore the village, cook their own meals, light a tandoor under the stars, and leave with a little of the quiet that our grandparents knew.

What we believe

What धrohar stands for.

A home, not a hotel

Two rooms, a shared veranda and a kitchen. You live here the way a family would, at your own pace.

Rooted in the village

Selur is a small farming village. We want guests to walk its paths, meet its people and respect its rhythm.

Heritage, carried forward

This land came from our grandparents. Every guest who stays helps keep that story alive.

Leave it more beautiful

We want tourism here to enrich the village and its natural beauty, not wear it down.

Through the years

How धrohar came to be.

  1. Then

    Our grandparents' land

A piece of ancestral land in Gegadgaon, Selur, looking out over the mountains and the valley.

  2. Built

    A house built with love

We built a simple home on it as a token of love for our grandparents: two rooms, a kitchen and an open veranda.

  3. Now

    Opening the doors

We're welcoming our first guests to share the view, the village and the quiet.

  4. Next

    Growing with the village

More photos, drone films, local experiences and ways for visitors to give back to Selur.

Our promise

Light on the mountain.

We want visitors to enrich Selur and its natural beauty. These are the things we ask of ourselves and our guests.

  • Respect the village and its people
  • Leave no litter on the trails
  • Buy local whenever you can
  • Protect the view for the next generation
